The Gift 🎁

The Gift By Joshua McCalla - Friday, April 7, 2023

We all have been offered a gift. We didn’t ask for it, and we didn’t work for it, but we were given it. This gift was bought the day Christ gave up His life for all of us. The gift of salvation, we didn’t ask for it, didn’t work for it, but Jesus Christ paid for it in full with the life of God’s only Son. Imagine being given a gift on your birthday and not opening it to see all it offers. If the giver of that gift were to return and still know that it has been untouched, they would question why. God doesn’t force us to accept Him; He patiently waits on us to open up and receive Him in our hearts.

Anyone who has accepted the gift of salvation has access to:

His grace is forever sufficient for us.

His forgiveness stops us from dwelling on past mistakes because nothing can separate us from the love of God.

His peace, which passeth all understanding.

A place in heaven that would not have been possible if Jesus didn’t make the ultimate sacrifice that we remember during this Easter season. It was difficult, but we must be thankful that Jesus obeyed his father’s instruction. He gave up his life for us to have eternal life. Jesus died for you and me before he even knew who we were. You can still access his love even if you have not accepted the gift yet. There is no measurement of the magnitude of God’s love. He knew we would make mistakes, turn our back on Him or doubt Him, and yet He decided that we are worth the life of His ONLY Son.

This Easter should be a reminder of how much God values us. He looks out for us constantly, without us even knowing. He provides, heals, protects, and always manages to make a way, especially when the odds are against us. So let us walk steadfastly in Christ, knowing He paid the ultimate price for The Gift.
