Trust in the Lord
Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways, submit to him and he will make your paths straight" (N.I.V).
Morning Meditation We have always heard about trusting in God and applying our faith. However, how many times do we blindly trust in his unwavering provision? One of the most outstanding examples of trusting in God, as shown in the Bible, is through Abraham and the demand that God sacrifice his son. Abraham did not doubt God's will; sure enough, he followed God's instruction and placed his only son, the promise in his old age, on the sacrificial altar. His famous response was, "God will provide." We know that the story ended with a confirmation of that provision.
Lesson
Often, we are led by God to sacrifice things that are near and dear to us. We may even believe that parting with material or immaterial things is illogical. However, God calls us to trust that He knows what is best for us, and once we submit to His leading, it is in His nature to be our good Shepherd and direct our paths. Therefore, as we pray and plan for camp, let us open our hearts to His leading. Let us not hesitate to shed any plans that we may have that are not in tune with God. Similarly, let us be sensitive enough to allow God to creatively impart insight, knowledge, and understanding.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for being our Shepherd. As willing sheep, we humbly submit to your will, purpose, and life plans. Let us not live in mediocrity but triumph in whatever mandate you have led us to. As we take on the day's activities, let us keep in tune with your gentle still voice and the prodding advice that you ever so oft give. In your name, we pray. Amen
